Youngsters interested in joining 4-H or who want to know more about the program are invited to a come-and-go event Saturday, Dec. 5, from 3 to 4 pm on the Greene County Fairgrounds.
Youth candiscover what 4-H is all about, pick up some 4-H To Go kits, tour the fairgrounds and talk with current 4-H members, club leaders and volunteers.
According to Kayla Willms, county youth and 4-H coordinator for Greene County Extension, the afternoon will be a fun way to help new members or someone who is interested in joining 4-H feel a part of the organization that focuses on positive youth development. “You do not have to be currently enrolled in 4-H to attend this event. Please RSVP to come ask questions and learn more about Greene County 4-H,” said Willms. The event is a joint effort between the Greene County 4-H Youth Development program committee and the Greene County 4-H Young Leaders.
The event is free, but to get a good head count, reservations are requested by Friday, Dec. 4. To RSVP, contact Kayla Willms at 515-386-2138 or khyett@iastate.edu.
